I have received confirmation from the Parish Office that the Sacrament of Confirmation for the current 6th class will take place on Weds, 31st May, 2023.There will be two ceremonies on this day for Straffan NS.

It has been agreed that the Confirmation Ceremony for Ms. Ní Ghríofa’s Class will take place at 12 noon and Ms. Brennan’s Class at 3pm.

The Gaeltacht Trip to Gaoth Dobhair has been booked for the week of the 15th May, 2023. An information meeting for parents will take place tomorrow Tuesday 31st January at 7.30pm.
Muinteoir Aisling McGinley from Colaiste Gaoth Dobhair will be giving a presentation about the planned trip and will be available to answer any questions on the night.

Back in 2019, we were approached by CBeebies regarding a school visit and we had planned workshops for all the classes in early March 2020. We raised the money to cover the cost through fundraisers but unfortunately due to COVID-19 and lockdown, all our plans were stalled. Last September, we were approached again to arrange the workshops for the school again and thankfully they will be here next Tuesday 24th Jan.

There will be two shows/ workshops for the children:
• Junior Infants to 2nd Classes will attend The Ridiculous Rhyme Show
• 3rd to 6th classes will attend a TV Workshop

Parent Information
The Ridiculous Rhyme Show was written and developed by BBC children’s presenters Joe Chambers and Andrew Crawford who are known for playing First Officer Ditty and Professor Poet on CBeebies’ TV show The Rhyme Rocket.

Now with a team of six, they have visited schools across the UK, headlined Glastonbury Kidz Field, and toured Australia and New Zealand!

We are thrilled to be able to welcome Joe and Andy to Straffan and we really hope the children enjoy this wonderful experience.
