Straffan Goes to Hollywood

We are delighted to announce a major fundraising initiative in 2026 which will help secure future facilities at Straffan GAA. On November 6th, ‘Straffan Goes to Hollywood’ will take place at the K Club and will showcase Straffan at its best! With 7 short films on the night, we want you to come along and enjoy a night of fun and craic as we are entertained by all our wonderful local actors.
This joint initiative between Straffan GAA, Straffan Camogie and Straffard LGFA will see the whole community come together to provide modern and better-changing facilities for all our players. All money raised through this fundraiser will be spent exclusively on this, so we need your help.
However….to get there – we need YOU, THE ACTORS! We are hosting a casting night in Friels on 30 April at 8pm. You don’t have to have any experience… just have a willingness to help out and do your part for Straffan.
So, whether you’re a parent, a player, a supporter or a member of the Straffan community – We Need Your Help.
Play your part in Straffan’s future and get involved in the film making.

Catholic Schools Week 2026- Normal Lives, Called to Holiness 18th–24th January 2026

During this week, our school celebrated Catholic Schools Week 2026 as part of the Grow in Love programme and in keeping with our school ethos. Throughout the week, pupils engaged in prayer, discussion, and reflection, deepening their understanding of what it means to live a life of faith.

We were delighted to welcome Fr. Peter, who visited each classroom and spoke with the children, offering encouragement and sharing insights about faith and community.

Each day focused on a different dimension of our call to holiness:

Monday: Called to Holiness through Prayer
Tuesday: Called to Holiness through Love and Friendship
Wednesday: Called to Holiness in Family Life
Thursday: Called to Holiness through Service and Courage
Friday: Called to Holiness through Joy and Mission
