Dear parents,

I would like to welcome you and your child to Scoil Bhríde in advance of our school closing for the summer holidays. Normally we would have had the pleasure of inviting you and your child into the school for our Junior Infant Induction and a visit well before now but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this has not been possible. We have been waiting for guidance from the Department of Education and Skills with regards to the plan for the reopening of schools for next September so we could inform you what the future plan is. However, at this stage, we haven’t received much guidance but we would like to reassure all of you that we are hoping for a full return after the summer holidays. We are very aware that there is a lot of uncertainty, discussion and confusion in the media currently.  However, we take our direction from the Department of Education and Skills (DES).  Initial guidance was issued to schools last Friday and we are awaiting more detailed guidelines in the coming weeks, and further advice will no doubt issue over the summer, as the start of the new school year approaches. We are very optimistic that we will all be back at the end of August, and are very much looking forward to welcoming you and your child to our school. We will notify you if there are any changes.

In preparation of the reopening of our school and the start of your child in primary school, we would like to support you as much as possible. To help you with this big step in your child’s life, we are attaching our Scoil Bhríde Junior Infant Induction Booklet with all the information about where to buy our school uniform, booklist and all the information about our school.

We will be in touch later in the summer with our new induction day invitation which we are hoping to be on the 31^st August. We feel we should start our school year with this initial introduction to the school so that we can ease your child into school after the closure of the schools and preschools since the 12^th March.
