What a term we have just completed and probably one of our most action-packed Decembers in years. We are extremely proud of our children and how hard they have worked this term. Our Junior Infants have really settled in and recently presented a fabulous Junior Infant Show.
Our Senior Classes hosted an amazing Christmas Fair yesterday and at the current count, we have raised over €2800 to help pay for buses and resources for the children. Well done everyone and a special thank you to our parents who have helped the children in preparing for the annual event. The creativity and crafting quality was exceptionally high this year, míle buíochas.
A special congratulations also to Niall Power from 6th class, who won a place in the National Final of the Intel Mini Scientist which will take place in the New Year. He has an amazing project on dealing with Stress and the project has gained much attention from the judges and other schools. Well done and best of luck in the final in 2024.
Our school have featured in a Department of Education production of videos on Education for Sustainable Development: Video 2 about Composting using a New Zealand Bin if you are interested in having a look. It features some of our 6th class children helping Dr. Paddy Madden with the process of composting. Our Parents Association have worked really hard this term by investing time and money back into the school. Thank you for organising and putting up our school decorations this year and also for arranging our special visitor, Santa. Thank you for the gift of a book for every child and for the percussion instruments for every classroom. Thank you for organising the Christmas Cards and for the staff coffee machine!! We are so lucky to have such an amazing PA and let’s keep the momentum going for 2024.
We have had a week of song, dance, prayer, games, quizzes and treasure hunts. We have celebrated success in sports, song and learning this year and now it is a time to take a break. I want to thank everyone for their hard work, cooperation and positivity and wish you all a wonderful Christmas Break.
